Oxygen and the air pressure are always being monitored. In the event of a decompression, an oxygen mask will automatically appear in front of you. To start the flow of oxygen, pull the mask towards you. Place it firmly over your nose and mouth, secure the elastic band behind your head, and breathe normally. Although the bag does not inflate, oxygen is flowing to the mask. If you are travelling with a child or someone who requires assistance, secure your mask on first, and then assist the other person.
For anyone that has ever flown before, we have heard these words mechanically announced over the public announcement system, but have you ever really thought about the simple LIFE logic that lies buried deep within these safety instructions? I recently had an occasion to do just that…A few weeks ago I shared the LIFE business plan with three businessmen that purchased an office building in a blighted area of the city. These men nobly donate a significant portion of the office space to a non-profit organization that allows entrepreneurs to incubate their start-up businesses for a year for free. The organization helps the start-ups with goal setting, business plans, and marketing plans all designed to launch successful businesses that could cross-network in order to bring revenue, and jobs to this depressed area. After presenting the LIFE plan, the men were so impressed with what we do that they invited me to present LIFE to the entire school districts Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). Supposedly 80-100 people would be my audience, so after I stopped drooling I booked the engagement!
Upon arrival, I was given an agenda that listed me last on the list, which was perfect because I wanted to hear what type of programs and ideas they were working towards implementing. The crowd was well short of the 80-100 that they were expecting, and a few of the presenters on the agenda, did not attend. Having built the LIFE business, that was to be expected. In most organizations 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people…the leaders! The leader of a program designed to aid children from ages 0-21 start the meeting off with a bang. She provided each person with a balloon for each child in their family, and had us all gather into a tight circle, she then instructed us to toss our balloons into the air and to work together to keep them all afloat. Her point was that we must all work together as a team to keep our children uplifted and aspiring to greater heights. She then proceeded to tell the crowd that the area needed leaders of character, compassion, and conviction to help influence the children. Her hand-out looked like a help wanted ad sent directly to LIFE headquarters! She passionately ended her plea for help with the news that they were pursuing a $45 million grant to help re-build the infrastructure and provide outlets for the children. I was up next, but after her talk, I could not just routinely “show the plan.” I began with my own pre-LIFE script of sort…
Relations and finances are always being monitored. In the event of a depression, the LIFE business will appear in front of you. To start the flow of information, pull the LIFE, LLR, AGO, and EDGE subscriptions towards your head and heart every month. Place them firmly in your hands and listen intently, secure a business with the TEAM system, and a mentor, breathe your second second with hope. Although the results may not appear quickly, information is flowing to your mind. If God blessed you with children or teammates that require assistance, secure your development first, and then assist the other person.
I then shared the LIFE business plan with passion and fire, not because I just wanted them to sign up, but because I care and I know that the answers to that community and all communities problems are found in the empowering information that LIFE provides. I greatly appreciate those faithful few leaders trying to inspire parents, students and teachers to strive for excellence. I was one of those impoverished children and programs like theirs helped me tremendously. Their hearts and motives were so pure, but the answers are not in more funding, more activities, or more programs for the children. The answer is to provide the parents with a LIFE education that secures their Faith, Family, Finances, Freedom, Fun, Friends, Fitness, and Following, so that they are equipped to interdependently keep their children’s balloons afloat. One cannot give what one does not have. Let’s give our children hope by first finding hope ourselves.
