2010… Dream, Struggle or Victory

Team AOJ,

As I awoke this morning to see the last day of 2009, I’m excited to see what 2010 has in store for this organization. This year has been a year of great change for many of us.  New jobs, new relationships, new health challenges and the list goes on. When we began this year, each of us set new goals and made new plans and set new commitments in our hearts as in stone. We vowed to stop doing this and to start doing that. We were going to spend less time doing this and more time doing that.  The year came and went in the blink of an eye, and alas here we are at the end of another season in our lives with many of our plans still unmet.

In Proverbs 19:21 we find these wise words…Many plans are in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

These words provide comfort to those of us that have the courage to dream, struggle and be victorious. God has a purpose that will always prevail in our lives. We are called to discover that purpose, and walk in that direction.  So what do you do when the year ends and the plans have fallen through?  The rest of the world would encourage you to give up and stop trying to pursue a life of purposeful excellence.  The rest of the non dreamers will laugh and shake their heads as they pour critical water on your plans to make a fire in your life.  But we have a different culture on the TEAM.  We may not have won the war this year, but we have won several battles.  We have discovered new Dreams, and experienced new struggles, and along the way we have become stronger because of the experiences.  We understand that our immediate results do not invalidate our plans.  God has a purpose for our lives, and we are determined to fulfill that purpose, we are also called to struggle through life’s valley’s on our way to discovering who we are.  With enough time, growth and struggle, our victories will emerge.

Will 2010 be the year that God unveils his master plan for your victorious life? Will 2010 be your break out year?  Will everything change?  Only God knows the answer, we are called to Dream, Sturggle and expect the victory.  One thing for sure… faith says that if you do not plan on 2010 being your year, it certainly will not be your year. So what are you planning to achieve in this year?  What doors will God open up for you in 2010?  I encourage each of you to DREAM BIG!  STRUGGLE MIGHTILY, and WIN HUMBLY!

Make no small plans for they have no power to stir the soul.”

  1. Thank you for the post that sets the tone for 2010. Even though all our goals for 2009 did not come to fruition, we look forward to another successful year! There is always a bright side and the bright side to 2009 is that we did not give up and throw in the towel. As you state, only God knows what the year holds for each of us, but our job is to press toward our dreams. As long as we continue to dream and go through our struggles we will have internal and external victories along the way. We recently heard on CD, that some struggles we go through are actually weaknesses leaving our bodies and we look forward to having bodies that are physically, mentally, socially and spiritually stronger in 2010. We are thankful to be part of this Great group of dreamers and welcome the challenge to continue the process of Dream, Struggle, VICTORY!
